Good points raised, Todd. Perhaps you are right, especially as many beginners would probably go way too far down the rabbit hole of alts (expect for Ethereum) and only realise that they're deep in the red when its too late.

I guess I take this very cautious approach for granted as it's been a while since I was a beginner.

Then again, a some it comes down to experience investors have when trading highly-volatile stocks, perhaps the closest thing to crypto assets.

I suggested some exposure because there are many alts that will do well, but, as you mentioned, many alts will fail, and for beginners, picking a winner is usually pot luck.
