It's dishonest and there should have been additional penalties for this action.
If they're not your funds and you haven't actually won, earnt or otherwise received them (as a genuine gift), then you should not accept them.
To the woman's credit, she bought a house.
In a similar story back in 2017, a young Malaysian woman spent a significant portion of $3.5 million on luxury goods.
Somehow, she got off lightly.
