Overly-generous pensions that aren't means-tested contribute to but are NOT the sole cause of intergenerational inequity.
Of course, corruption, poor governance, insufficient planning for ageing populations, a lack of a sovereign wealth fund (hats off to Norway for their foresight and follow-through) has led to many countries being in the predicament that they are in today.
I don't live in France and have no connection, albeit an EU citizen. However, there is the other side to the story before people start supporting the protesters, without considering any context here.
On a lighter note, I know this is cliché and tacky as AF, and to quote Helen Lovejoy,..
