Thanks for sharing your insights about this. Three fundamental differences between gold confiscations in the 1930s and now are:

- Wealthy individuals can easily leave the USA for other jurisdictions than nearly 100 years ago.

- $1M, $10M or even $100M in digital assets are all ultra-portable and much easier to personally control than the equivalent in gold, particularly if people were to go abroad with their Bitcoin or similar holdings.

- The upper echelon of society has access to some of the best accountants, particularly with easy communication between professionals on opposite sides.

Then again, this is the US Government, and if they wanted to pursue someone, they could find a way. My point is that it would be more costly and sophisticated nowadays versus the 1930s.

Then again, maybe I'm wrong, and the highly digitised nature of our society, coupled with greater collaboration between international law enforcement agencies, diminishes/negates the benefits I mentioned above.
