The potential of an irreversibly destructive software bug for Bitcoin, albeit unlikely, reinforces my argument why you should also have some skin in the game with Ethereum too, and perhaps a couple of other alts.
In other words, I'd never go all in on just one crypto.
Conversely, do not spread yourself too thin.
The biggest concern on this list would be finding a way to rapidly advance quantum computing in a way that there would be a massive boost to modular QC systems all working in sync to have enough qubits of processing power to potentially compromise Bitcoin's hashing and digital signatures algorithms — SHA-256 and ECDSA, respectively.
Having said this, QC is still far from powerful enough to take down Bitcoin. There is no way that with the amount of vested interest in Bitcoin — let alone most major blockchains — its largest stakeholders will sit idly by whilst hackers destroy these systems.
Neither financial nor technical advice, ladies and gents.
