There are many layer-two scaling solutions (L2s) —Arbitrum, Optimism, Loopring, Base, etc. built on top of or running alongside Ethereum that will significantly boost the network's throughput (i.e., transactions per second/TPS).
Let's not forget about Polygon (MATIC), the biggest sidechain that is also helping boost Ethereum's scalability.
Zero-knowledge rollups and sharding will eventually lead to much cheaper ETH transaction fees.
Having said this, I hope Solana does well, and I believe it will.
