We have a deposit scheme for drink containers in various states across Australia.

Many machines that accept various drink containers (reverse vending machines) are situated in supermarket carparks or near a supermarket.

There are so many people who readily dump multiple dirty drink containers they've found by rummaging through recycling bins, or off the ground, straight into these carts (or what we call trolleys) without considering how unhygienic it is.

If you had relatively your beverage containers in large clean(ish) plastic tubs that you put in the trolleys, I'd cut you some slack...but many don't.

I've even contacted supermarkets to have a system whereby there are trolleys with a marking on them to keep them separate from the ones used in supermarkets.

In typical Aussie fashion, "She'll be right, mate", which, to put it bluntly, translates to, "It'll work itself out."

A.k.a., We can't be f$&ked trying that option.

I got the classic good-olde corporate response,

"We'll take your feedback on board".
