As per your claim about "crypto dying a painful death", I doubt the entire crypto sector will die under this hypothetical cataclysimic, doom-and-gloom event for the entire sector.

Keep your pants on, as Bitcoin and Ethereum are still adequately beyond their 2017 all-time highs when they were supposed to die; these two cryptos combined account for over 60% of the total circulating market-cap of crypto assets.
