There is something else you forgot to touch on.
Very few people address the other environmental problem with Bitcoin mining equipment, which has not been sufficiently addressed: E-waste.
It's a real shame that there's insufficient discussion about this, as the CO2 emissions from using ASIC miners can be readily offset by nuclear energy and various renewable sources*.
In contrast, e-waste directly linked to obsolete or broken miners is a much more complicated matter to resolve and people are ignoring this.
*This also depends on what type of energy is also used to make wind turbines and solar panels.
